Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary 6934 South Western Avenue Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
On Sunday, January 14, 2018, Alma June Herring passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was 82 years old. The daughter of Grace Jewell (McBeth) and Dewey D. Tittle, June was born June 5, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She lived with her brothers and sisters in the house where she was born until she married. She married her sweetheart, Kenneth Alton Herring on May 18, 1952 and this union of marriage was blessed with three children: Kenneth Randle, Susan Jane and Alisa Ann. Together, they shared more than 61 years of marriage, raising a family and serving the Lord faithfully before his passing on July 2, 2013. June was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn on January 29, 1950 and faithfully served the Lord, her family and others with all of her heart. In addition to being a loving wife and devoted mother, June used her many talents such as sewing, quilting, baking, and blessing others with her generosity and thoughtfulness. June was very frugal and very good at saving her money and stashing it away to fulfill and meet the needs of others. She helped fund her husband’s Evangelist trips by saving back extra grocery money. Always very prompt and early to functions and gatherings, June was exemplified a Proverbs 31 woman.
