Obituary for Thomas Joseph Stevenson Sr.

Thomas Joseph Stevenson Sr.
Thomas Joseph Stevenson, Sr., 90, passed away on June 19, 2018, in Oklahoma City. He was born on July 13, 1927 to Francis and Mary Stevenson and grew up in the Clifton Heights and Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania area. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII. He met the love of his life, Anne Mary Magdalene Catherine Field Stevenson, and they married in 1951 and spent 61 years together. He spent 42 years working for RCA & GE in the area of electronics and television repair before retiring in 1988. After living in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania for many years, where they raised their two sons, they moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1994 to be near their grandchildren. They subsequently settled in the Oklahoma City area in 2004. Tom was always active in sports including football and baseball in high school. He was a Boy Scout, achieving the rank of Life Scout, but was unable to finish his Eagle Scout rank due to the onset of WWII. As an adult, he was an avid bowler, softball player, golfer and archer, a sport he shared with Anne and his sons. He was a proud member of the United Bowmen and USA Archery.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Albert, and his beloved wife, Anne. He is survived by his sons, Thomas Joseph Stevenson, Jr. (Kathleen) and David James Field Stevenson; and grandsons, Bryce Thomas Stevenson and Logan Joseph Stevenson, both Eagle Scouts.

Funeral services for Thomas will be held at 1pm, June 25, 2018, at All Souls Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania, OKC, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: The Last Frontier Council of the Boy Scouts of America, 3031 NW 64th St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116.
