Billie Marie Dunn lived from November 23, 1928 to November 4, 2018. The love of her life, her husband of 71 years, Eugene E. Dunn, was at her side when she chose to leave us. Trust she was stubborn enough to get to choose when. Beyond that stubborness, was a smart, kind, and interesting lady that loved family, all things Victorian, bracelets, a small town in Ohio, Mark Harmon, animals, books, knitting and dragons. To the casual observer, you might think Billie lived a dull, ordinary life. She raised seven kids. She probably begged for dull moments. It's true, there was no wealth, nor did she have a lavish home, fancy clothes or cars. She never drove a car, ever, not once. But she was rich beyond measure, with the love of a devoted man, who took care of her, even more so, when she could no longer physically do that for herself. He did so, until death did they part. Billie recently told us: “You kids need to look after your Dad, he is the finest man in the world.” We also remember, she was a voracious reader, a lover of stories, mysteries, characters and places. She traveled, explored the world, met many people from all walks of life, she had the world by the tail in her books on her shelves. She lived in so many stories, beyond her own. How she loved the quiet and a good book. She will be missed and remembered by her children, their children, and those who knew her, with love. She will be laid to rest among friends, neighbors and a daughter who also slumbers there. “Godspeed Mom, we made sure you had a book to take with you.”
