Steve, 68, passed away at home on Friday. He was born in OKC to Charles and NormaLea Newby. He was raised in South OKC and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1969. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during Vietnam. He was discharged in 1973 and returned to OKC where he began working at Dayton Tire Plant. He worked for Dayton for over 33 years. He met the love of his life, Jerrie Maddux in 1976 and they were married the next year. Stephen and Jerrie were blessed with 2 sons, Jared and Jason. Steve was a family man and loved spending time with his children. They enjoyed many family trips to Galveston together. In his spare time, Steve enjoyed playing pool and riding his motorcycles with his buddies. He played pool semi-professionally and won a number of tournaments. Steve was quite the philosopher.
