Obituary for Freeman "Bud" G. Walker
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Monday. Services will be held at St. James the Greater Catholic Church at 11 AM on Tuesday. Burial will be at the Peoria Cemetery in Quapaw, OK on Wednesday at 10:30 AM.
October 3, 1933 in Claremore OK, Freeman G Walker (Bud) was born to Freeman and Mildred Watson Walker. Bud graduated Johnson High School, Johnson KS. He attended Kansas University as an honors student. He was an avid Jayhawk, (He was noted in Sports Illustrated as KU’s biggest fan).
While Bud was in the Army, he met Nicole Biver from Metz, France. Bud married Nicole in 1961 and together they have a daughter, Veronique G. Walker and a grandson, Julien Walker.
Whatever Bud did, he was successful. He worked as a carpenter before he went to KU. Bud began erecting grain bins in southwest Kansas. He owned and operated a Mobile station in Oklahoma City and owned and operated a mud-logging business based out of Oklahoma City.
Bud had many interests: crossword puzzles, sudoku, going to horse races, visiting friends. He was active with the VA program and with the Miami tribe. He was known for his love of sports, his intelligence-most notably math.
Freeman G. was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred and father, Freeman T;
Sisters, Muriel Walker Tedder, Peggy Jo and Wanda Louise Walker;
Brothers, John Virgil and Wendell Anthony Walker;
Brother-in-law, George C Tedder.
He is survived by his wife Nicole Biver Walker and daughter, Veronique and grandson, Julien Walker of Oklahoma City; Sisters, Ellen Kay Walcher (Ernest) of Woodward OK, Elizabeth Anne Devers (Darrell ) of Beaver OK, and Linda Lee Donati (Emanuel) of Stratford NJ;
Nephews, George Rodney Tedder, Jerry Clay Tedder, Rocky Walcher, George Joseph Donati , Chris Cockreham, Doug Walker, Matthew Walker, Francois Guillaume and John Biver;
Nieces, Dana Diedrich, Melissa DeGroot, Jennifer Anne Patrick, Becky Columbus, Lisa Walker Emanuelle Guillaume, Anne Guillaume, Francoise Biver, Dominque Biver and Chantel Biver.
Many great nieces and nephews and many great great nieces and nephews, all of whom loved their Uncle Bud.
He leaves behind a multitude of friends and acquaintances and will be sorely missed by all.
