David went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday February 23, 2019 at the age of 60. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Richard & Joan Greenwood. He attended Del City High School where he played multiple sports, football being his favorite. After graduating from OSU-Okmulgee he began a career with Conoco as a Diesel Mechanic, which later became DCP Midstream. In 1982 David married the love of his life Karie Hawthorne and they were blessed with two daughters Kathryn & Jennifer. David had a passion for woodworking and restoring his ’76 Chevy pickup. Over the years, David was very involved with the Mustang High School Nightrider band and served at First Baptist Mustang in various capacities. He loved sports, especially OSU football, and cheering the OKC Thunder to victory. Most of all David was a loving husband, son, dad, and Pop to Abby. His family & friends will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karie; daughters Kathryn & husband Christopher Wood; Jennifer & Matthew Peters; his parents Richard & Joan Greenwood; sister, Linda Greenwood; brother, Steve & wife Frances Greenwood; niece, Lindsey Greenwood; one granddaughter Abigail Wood, and numerous other family & friends. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Mustang, Oklahoma.
