Obituary for Melva Jean Connelly

Visitation will be Sunday 12-8pm. Services will be 10:00am Monday in the South Colonial Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.


Melva Jean Connelly went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the age of 78. She was born on October 24, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to her parents, Arthur Melvin and Marie (Reece) Jeter. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School where she met the love of her life, Doyle Hershall Connelly. They were united in marriage on August 8, 1958 and blessed with two daughters, Angelia and Cynthia. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker, Melva generously volunteered his time and talents at the food bank and different charities raising money for different organizations. She also was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and a skilled writer having written poetry and a book, The Ghost Child. Melva was a very loving, caring and gracious woman who will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her:
Parents;
Husband of 32 years, Doyle H. Connelly;
Granddaughter, Alicia Erinn Marie Hill.

She leaves behind her loving:
Daughter, Angie Brantner and her husband, David;
Daughter, Cindy Wheeler and husband, Dennis Roberts;
Sister, Betty Jackson;
Granddaughter, Kimberly Morris and her husband, Colby;
Grandson, Nathan Wheeler and his wife, Susana;
Granddaughter, Emily Brantner;
3 Great-Granddaughters: Mykayla, Kaitlyn and Addie Morris;
Many nieces, nephews and friends.
