Viewing will be 4-8 PM Wed. & Thurs. at the funeral home. Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2019 at the South Colonial Chapel with interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Joe Ellis Shannon, 83, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away April 8, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born December 28, 1935 to Leslie and Ruby Shannon in Okfuskee County, OK. Joe married his first wife, Norma Lee in 1954 and from their union they had 4 children. He worked as a lead man at Fred Jones Remanufacturing for 28 years with perfect attendance before retiring. Joe was not only a hard worker; he was a very loving person. He would do anything for others whenever he could. He was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. In his spare time you could find Joe tinkering on old cars in the garage or tending to his garden full of tomato plants. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents & his first wife, Norma Lee Shannon. He is survived by his sons, James and Joe Shannon Jr. and wife, Tina; daughters, Debbie White and fiancé, Kevin Myers, Rebecca Brown and husband, Dewayne; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and his second wife, Norma Pryor.
