Charles went to be with his Lord on Sunday August 11, 2019. Charles was born September 22, 1928 in Avery, TX to Raymond and Lois (Jones) Montgomery. Charles grew up in East Texas and Southern Oklahoma. During his teenage years his family lived in Pauls Valley. It was there during his 8th grade year where Charles met the love of his life, Marie Miller. The two were very popular during high school and they were homecoming king and queen during their senior year. Charles was a great athlete in high school and excelled in football as a tailback. He was selected for the All-State Program in 1948. Charles and Marie graduated from Pauls Valley High School and the two were married shortly after graduation. Charles took a job at Wacker’s Dept. Store in Pauls Valley and later started working for Coats and Clark Thread Co. in sales which took them to Jackson, Mississippi and Birmingham, Alabama. Charles and Marie were blessed with two children, Rick and Carol. Charles worked hard to support their family and Marie supported him every step of the way. A few years later they returned to Oklahoma and settled down in Oklahoma City. In OKC Charles worked as a sales manager for Joe Hodges and Par Truck leasing. Charles later got into the insurance business with Farmers and owned a number of companies including, his own insurance agencies CMA, Dale Robertson Motor Club and a credit life company, Life Investors, with Barry Switzer. After Charles semi-retirement he served on the board of directors with the NASE, National Association of Self Employment, out of Dallas, TX. Aside from his work accomplishments, Charles was an avid golfer. He and Marie enjoyed golfing together any chance they got. They lived at Oak Tree, Falcon Head, and also had a vacation home on a Golf Course in Mexico. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage together and it was full of joy and love. Charles was known for helping people, especially family and close friends.

Grandson, Shane Montgomery & wife Shayna;
Grandson, Ryan Montgomery Layne & Hollie Anderson;
7 Great-Grandchildren;
as well as many extended family and loving friends.
