Obituary for Earl Samuel "Sam" Craig Jr.

Earl Samuel “Sam” Craig, Jr. was born March 20, 1947 in Oklahoma City, to Earl Samuel and Catherine Mary (Ryan) Craig. Sam graduated from Bishop McGuiness High School in 1966, attended Central State University, and served his country in the U.S. Army. He married Sherlyn Eddie Jabara on July 29, 1972, and began a career selling yellow pages, soon starting Yellow Pages Media of Arkansas with partner Ken Chancellor, driving across state lines every week for nearly 25 years to produce the West Memphis phone directory. After retiring in 2015, he became a ride-share driver, and took great pride serving his faithful customers.

Sam loved vacations in South Padre Island with his family, warm nights relaxing on the patio, and naps with his favorite dog, “Padre.”

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sherlyn; his daughter, Corey Jennifer Craig of Vancouver, B.C.; his son, Ryan Samuel Craig (Kelly) of Los Angeles, CA; his beloved grandson, Colton Farris Craig; his sister, Charlene Craig, his brother, Steven Craig (Angela), his nieces and nephews, Jeff Kizer, Amy Harlow (Jeremy), Stephanie Craig, Allison Bost (Jared), Valerie Craig, Marshall Craig, Kyle, Chad, and Chase Jabara; in-laws Gina Jabara, Steve Jabara, Bryan Jabara (Barbara), and many cousins.

Family Visitation will begin at 10:30 prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church Chapel, 15000 N. May Ave., OKC 73134. Interment with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6001 NW Grand Ave Blvd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Flowers that Do Not Wither Fund of St. Elijah Orthodox Church, or St. Anthony Hospital Foundation.
