Obituary for Joyce Ann Green

Joyce was born in Oklahoma City to Cecil & Joy Alice (Thompson) Lowder. She graduated from U.S. Grant High School in 1974 and later went on to attend OCCC. Joyce met and married David Green in November of 1977. In 1978, she welcomed the light of her life Sandy. Joyce was active with the Delta Theta Chi Sorority, enjoyed her Life Church bible study group and also volunteered at Integris Baptist in their Cuddle Care Program with NICU babies. She also loved shopping, especially with her daughter. They made many spontaneous trips to Dallas together. Joyce’s love for shopping may have stemmed from her job as a Buyer for Hobby Lobby for 35 years. Joyce made many great memories and long-lasting friendships with her co-workers and especially her companion Monty throughout the years. Joyce will be remembered for her positive attitude and endearing smile. Joyce was absolutely hilarious, and if laughter added life, then she added years to everyone around her. She was a gift to the heart and a golden thread to the meaning of life. She had the qualities every person needs – courage, dignity and love of God. In the end she displayed her magic. She could still see the beautiful sunset even in the darkest of days. She was truly a heroine never to be forgotten.
