Obituary for Kathryn Lucille Parker (Parker)

Kathryn Lucille Parker, 83, passed on Tuesday October 8, 2019. Katie was born in Fulbright, TX on February 20, 1936 to Troy & Mary Parker. She grew up in Oklahoma City & graduated from Central High School in 1954. After graduation she started training at St. Anthony’s School of Nursing and became a registered nurse in 1960. Katie worked at Mercy Hospital over 40 years and held positions in ICU, supervision, Education, and ended her career as a director at the convent of The Sisters of Mercy. She loved to play table and board games such as bunko, dominoes, and any card game. Katie loved attending family reunions at Lake Texoma and Robbers Cave where she would reminisce with family. Katie enjoyed traveling and did so for many years with her partner Mary Ann. Katie was strong in her faith and had a loving and generous heart. She choose to see the good in everyone and did not speak unkindly of others. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Troy & Mary, siblings: Syble, Herman, Horace, Troy Jr, Kenneth, Francis, Martha, Martin Royce, Betty Ann & Trula Mae; and her partner Mary Ann Snyder. She is survived by her Sister Mary Story, as well as many nieces, nephews, & other loving family and dear friends.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes, Monday, October 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM, with burial following at Heritage Burial Park.
