Obituary for Barbara Jean Seagrove (Grubb)

Barbara Jean Seagrove passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at the age of 93. She was born on July 15, 1926 to Lyle and Leona Grubb. She lived in Oklahoma City for about 5 years, then began moving all over the state with her parents and younger brother Bob. Her father was a highway inspector, so they had to move to wherever a highway was being built. After high school her plans were to work for the Signal Corps in Washington, D. C., but a change of direction took her to Camp Gruber, a prisoner of war camp. There she worked in the intelligence department where mail was inspected.
She married the love of her life, Gene, February 26, 1949. Over the fifty years they were together, they were able to share so many experiences—moving from Oklahoma to New Jersey, to North Carolina and back to Oklahoma; spending time at Grand Lake, to traveling the country in their motor home; from volunteering at Integris Baptist Hospital to putting the weekly church newsletter together. She shared a beautiful life with Gene.
Barbara leaves a loving family: her daughter Kris and son-in-law Bruce Johnson, of Franklin, Tennessee; and her daughter Pam and son-in-law Mike Adams, of Oklahoma City. She was very blessed with four grandchildren: Courtney Montag (Matt), Chelsey Stromsness (Dustin), Kerri Adams, Chad Adams (Melissa), and eight great grandchildren: Mitchell, William and Mallory Montag; Dane and Tripp Stromsness; Jackson, Truman and Audrey Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, granddaughter Kerri Adams, brother Bob and sister-in-law Rosemary Grubb.
Barbara had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart and will be dearly missed.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 21, at Church of the Servant, with visitation prior to the service.
