Obituary for Marc Kevin Gillette
Marc Kevin Gillette, 63, from Oklahoma City Passed away after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer on October 25, 2019. Marc was born in Oklahoma City on December 17, 1955.
Marc was born in Oklahoma City, and raised in Moore with his two siblings Brett and Keli. Life there was spent on the ball fields and with close friends who have been lifelong. He remained close with his friends from Moore after his family moved to Anadarko where he played baseball in his senior year and legion ball as well. He went on to play baseball at The University of Oklahoma after transferring from USAO. After college Marc met the love of his life, Pam. In the early years of marriage Marc and Pam went on several adventures with friends and family. They welcomed their three children over the next 9 years. Lauren was born in OKC. They moved to New York in 1990 were Meagan was born. They eventually built a life in Broken Arrow where they welcomed their only son, Grayson in 1993. Marc and Pam raised their family participating in sports, school and social events with great neighborhood friends. They have spent the last five years enjoying life on Ski Island; Fishing, grilling, playing games, and going out for boat rides. Marc stayed in touch with his Sig Ep brothers and enjoyed their” boys nights”. Drinking scotch, playing golf, tailgating and making restaurant quality meals for those he loved were among his favorite things. His sense of humor, vast knowledge, and conversations will be missed.
Marc is survived by his Wife of 35 years Pamela Farley Gillette, three children Lauren (Daniel), Meagan (Jason), and Grayson (Kaylee), his brother Brett (LauriAnn), sister Keli (Terry), Mother in Law Muriel (JD), Brother in Law Shane (Hayley), nephews and nieces, many Brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents L.D. and Mozelle Sparks Gillette.
Marc was a Sooner loving Cowboy convert who lived for Sig Ep and the Red Sox. His passion in life was cooking for those he loved.
Services will be on Friday November 1st, 2019; 2 P.M. at Vondel L. Smith Mortuary 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd. Oklahoma City, OK 73142.
