K.K. “Pete” Frans
November 18, 1941 ~ January 15, 2020

A Memorial Service to celebrate Pete’s life will be at 11 AM Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel.

K.K. “Pete” Frans was born at home, approximately 5 miles west and ¼ miles north of Thomas, OK on November 18, 1941, to Morty E. and Eula (Woldridge) Frans. Pete died peacefully in the early morning on January 15, 2020 in Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK, having reached the age of 78 years, 1 month and 15 days.

Pete was the 3rd born child and lived with his parents, sister and 2 brothers, while he helped raise cattle and farm the land from an early age and throughout High School. He attended Independence School through 6th grade, at which time Independence School consolidated with Custer School. He graduated from Custer School in 1960.

He ran for Oklahoma State Representative and after narrowly losing the election, he decided to attend Oklahoma State University. Throughout college he was actively involved on campus, where he joined Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, worked as a broadcaster for the campus radio station, editor for the OSU Redskin yearbook, and was President of the Young Democrats Club. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Agriculture Economics degree. He joined the Army Reserves in 1966, eventually retiring as a Major after over 20 years of service.

On June 20, 1966 he married Barbara Jean “Jayne” Wyatt in Poteau, OK. They settled in Oklahoma City, OK, where they had their first child, Kelli, in 1968, and their second child, James in 1970. Pete began his long career with Procter & Gamble in sales, and shortly thereafter was transferred to Omaha, NE, where the family lived until 1980. He was then transferred back to Oklahoma City, OK where he lived the remainder of his life. His wife, Jayne Frans, passed away in 2004.

Pete thoroughly enjoyed his career, and retired as a Sales Manager from Procter & Gamble after 35 years of employment. Retirement was not for Pete, however, he decided to engage in another career, and became a real estate investor to keep him busy, and he was actively involved with his business and tenants over the past decade. Pete had a passion for tennis, and up until recently, he played consistently 3-4 times a week since the 1970’s. Pete immensely
enjoyed entertaining in his home, and hosting events with friends. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his granddaughters – telling them stories, and teaching them things.

Pete is survived by his wife, Doris M. Cole-Frans; daughter, Kelli Michelle Miller of Aledo, TX; son, James Shelton Frans of Oklahoma City; 3 granddaughters, Aubrey Alison Miller, Sydney Nicole Miller, and Brooke Ashlyn Miller all of Aledo, TX; 1 sister, Sheila Mouse of Weatherford, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Sam Frans, and his brother, Deon Frans. We celebrate the life of “Pete” Frans as an incredible gift and blessing to all the lives he touched.

The family invites you to join them at Pete’s home after the service.
