Obituary for Freda Belcher

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2020 the family will be present to greet friends from 3 – 6 PM at Vondel L. Smith Mortuary at South Lakes 4000 S. W. 119th OKC 73173. Graveside services to remember & celebrate her life will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 1, 2020 at Heritage Burial Park at South Lakes 4000 S. W. 119th OKC 73173.

Fredrica Dean Belcher (Pherigo) was born on July 6, 1936 in Logan Township, Baxter County Arkansas. She was called home to be with the Lord on the 27th of May, 2020 at her home in Tuttle, Oklahoma

Freda was one of 10 children born to Fred & Dona Pherigo.

In 1954 she met and married her husband Bob Belcher. They had two sons, Robert & Gary Belcher. Freda was a homemaker while Bob maintained a career with the U. S. Army. The Army would take them across multiple states, finally settling down in Oklahoma. After retirement, the two worked on buying, restoring & selling houses.

In November 2019, Freda became ill & was diagnosed with cancer; she is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Robert; parents, Fred & Dona; & siblings Iverne “Myrt” Flippin, Bobby Dean Pherigo, William Thomas “Tommy” Pherigo and an infant brother & a great granddaughter Briley Mae Tucker.

She is survived by her son Gary Belcher; 6 grandchildren, Trista Stout, Jamie McKee, Traci Workman, Justin Belcher, Sarah & Lauren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Ivy Mae Fitzpatrick & Margie Lewis; and brother, Paul Pherigo. Freda loved her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren very much. She will be missed dearly.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for providing great care and compassion to Freda during her final days.
