Obituary for Robert Milton "Rob" Rice Jr.

Robert “Rob” Milton Rice, Jr. was born April 9, 1958 in San Antonio, TX the son of Robert Milton and Elissa Mary (Lawrey) Rice. He completed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the age of 62. Rob graduated from John Marshall High School in 1978. He went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Eckerd College and his Master’s Degree in Theology from Emory University. He pursued a career in computer work and earned an Associate degree in Computer Science and several IT certifications. Rob spent 8 years working in Alaska under contract to the FAA before returning to the Federal Aviation Administration as a Business IT Enterprise Manager for many years. Rob was a devout Christian who enjoyed riding his Harley (The Moose), was an avid aviation buff and building computers at home for himself and others. But, Rob’s greatest love was spending time with his friends and family, especially his niece, nephew, and grand nephews who will always remember him as the “Ultimate Uncle”. Rob is survived by his mother, Mrs. Robert M. (Elissa) Rice of Oklahoma City; his sister, Elizabeth Maren and her husband Adolph of Edmond; ; his nephew Ryan Maren ,wife Sally, and grand nephew Roland of Edmond; his niece Lauren Maren Tucker, husband Drew, and grand nephews Andrew, Adolph, and Royce of Edmond; his uncle David Lawrey of PA, his uncle James Grasley of OKC, and cousin, Gina Bebout. He was preceded in death by his father. A private family service will be held at All Souls Episcopal Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
