Obituary for Jake Stehr

Jake was born on May 13, 1952, in Mangum, Oklahoma to his parents, Karl Friedriech Stehr and Zelda Marlene Faulkner Stehr. He went to his Heavenly Home on Friday, August 21, 2020 after a long illness. His family spent many years in Mangum and Noble, Oklahoma before settling in Norman.
Jake attended Norman High School and graduated in 1971. He enrolled at OSU in computer technology for a short time but always knew he wanted to be a carpenter. After a short time at OSU Jake decided to follow his passion. He started with residential carpentry work and then made the switch to commercial companies, where he quickly advanced to Superintendent. He retired from the Oklahoma City Public Schools in 2018.

Jake was very talented and could build anything, take apart and put back together most anything. He also was in a band for many years, playing bass guitar. Jake always had a “hot rod” of some kind and loved his Harley Davidson, even teaching his wife how to ride and they would take off to destinations unknown. It was always an adventure. Jake and his wife Brenda were long time members at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman.

Jake was loved by so many and will be missed by everyone who knew him. We look forward to the day we see him once again.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents.
