Roger Cordray, 81, died from complications caused by COVID-19 on Thursday, September 10th, 2020 at Tuttle Care Center. He was born June 23, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to his parents William and Pearl. He was raised in Oklahoma City and attended US Grant High School. Soon after, Roger joined the US Army and even spent time in Germany. He continued serving his country in the Army National Guard until 1987. On November 25, 1960, he married the love of his life Bonita (Ruise), and the two started their family. While Roger worked in a variety of professions throughout his life, the most important part of any job for this people-person were the connections he made with his coworkers. Roger had a wide variety of pastimes. He loved gardening, fishing, camping, relaxing on the porch, and spending time with his dog Spencer. He also enjoyed eating junk food (especially chocolate) and sharing his unique sense of humor with others. Nothing was more important to Roger than his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and dear friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years Bonita, and his three older sisters; Colleen, Billie Jo, and Frances. He is survived by son William “Billy” Cordray & wife Christine; daughter Angela Wyatt & husband Dean; granddaughter Shelby Wyatt; and older brother Donald Cordray, as well as many extended family, and friends. He will be buried in Resthaven Cemetary in Oklahoma City on Monday, Sept. 14th, 2020.
