Obituary for H.J. Hanlan

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 25, 2020 at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend, H.J. Hanlan passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the age of 86. He was born on July 6, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas to his parents, Pearl and Harold Hanlan, Sr. After graduating from Capitol Hill High School, H.J. honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1958. H.J. married Eileen Porter on July 4, 1953 in Oklahoma City and they were happily married and recently celebrated their 67th anniversary this past 4th of July. H.J. began his computer career at Kerr McGee Oil and Nuclear in Grants, New Mexico before later retiring from F.A.A. in 1989. He also worked at the OKC Fairgrounds for several years before retiring again. H.J. was an avid reader, who also loved fly fishing, trying his luck at the casino and watching golf on TV, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Affectionately known as “Pa” to his grandchildren, H.J. spent many happy hours entertaining the kids. H.J. will be fondly remembered for his kindness, honesty, integrity, generosity and quick sense of humor. H.J. was a good man who will be missed very much but will continue to live on in the very fond memories of all who knew him.

He leaves behind his:
Loving wife of 67 years, Eileen Hanlan;
Daughter, Christy Savage;
Son, Jay Hanlan;
Daughter, Tobi Campbell and son-in-law, Allen Campbell;
Much loved grandchildren: Ashley Cline (Dax), Stephanie McKinney (Josh) and Dylan Savage, Brandon, Jordon, Amelia and Maddie Hanlan;
Dearly loved bonus grandkids: Corey and Hannah;
As well as 4 great grandchildren and 5 bonus great grandchildren;
Brothers, Roy, Kent, and Limuel Hanlan, and their families.
And countless friends.
