Obituary for Glen Patrick "Pat" Pierce

Glen Patrick “Pat” Pierce, of Moore, OK, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, October 11, 2020 after a battle with a serious illness.

Pat was born January 19, 1937, in Mobeetie, TX, and later moved to Sulphur, OK. Pat was nicknamed “Curly” growing up and helped on his family’s farm. He graduated from Sulphur High School, married the love of his life, Peggy Lou Doty, on November 20, 1960, and moved to Moore, OK.

Pat was a veteran of the Oklahoma National Guard 180th division 45th infantry brigade, worked for TOX (Texas Oklahoma Express), in the construction industry, and ended his career at Moore Public Schools.

Pat coached his sons in baseball and football, along with countless other children, and loved to watch sports, especially his beloved Sooners and Cowboys. Pat was a former member of Grace Free Will Baptist and an active member at Southern Oaks Free Will Baptist Church.

“Papa,” as he was known by his family, lived a life “well lived.” He was a man of deep faith, a dedicated and loving husband to his wife of almost 60 years, an example to others, and loved fiercely by his family.

Pat is survived by his wife Peggy Lou Pierce; son, Glen Pierce and wife Danielle; son, Greg Pierce and wife Stacy; son, Kevin Grant Pierce and wife Margaret; grandchildren, Tara Pierce; Trevor Pierce; Dylan Davis; Cecilia Pierce; Jackson Pierce; Garin Hightower; Tristen Moxley and her husband Jeff; Monica Randall; Heather Nold; and great grandchildren, Brylie Hightower; Beau Hightower; Lainey Pierce; Ryder Pierce; Julie Riley; James Riley; Zachary Nold; Lance Nold, and many, many more loving family members and friends.

Pat is preceded in death by his father and mother, Cecil and Mary Lea Pierce of Sulphur, OK, and his beloved brother Charles “Charlie” Marion Pierce and his sister-in-law Wanda Pierce, Peggy’s sister.

Visitation: Vondel L. Smith Mortuary, 6934 S. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK, 73139, Thursday, October 15, 2020, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.

Funeral Services: Southern Oaks Free Will Baptist Church, 7201 S. Santa Fe Ave, Oklahoma City, OK, 73139 on Friday, October 16, 2020, at 10:00am.

Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery, W 14th Street & Oaklawn Rd, Sulphur, OK, at 2:30pm.
