Obituary for Madalene Rae Roedl (Moyer)

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 6th at 10:00 am at St. Luke’s UMC Downtown.

Madalene Rae (Moyer) Roedl
February 6, 1938 – February 24, 2021

Madalene Rae Roedl went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the age of 83. The daughter of Grace Tipton (Trantham) and Ray Alfred Moyer, Madalene was born on February 6, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After graduating from Capitol Hill High School, she attended Mercy School of Nursing and was honored to be named “Miss Mercy 1959.” On August 7, 1959, Madalene married her one true love, Robert Joseph Roedl and together this union of marriage was blessed with two daughters, Jana and Julie. In addition to being a loving wife and devoted mother, Madalene worked as a Registered Nurse for many years. She was honored to serve as Vice President of Nursing for Southwest Medical Center, President and Chief Executive Officer of Select Specialty Care, and the former President of the Oklahoma Nursing Association. She was also instrumental in establishing an LTAC Hospital and Jim Thorpe Rehab Hospital. Her lifelong commitment to help care for and serve the needs of others in her community has left a lasting legacy that has and will continue to positively influence thousands of lives. She was a longtime and active member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church for many years. Madalene was loved and respected by all and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Parents;
Brothers: James Moyer and Ray Moyer, III;
Sister, Marilyn Winkler.

Madalene is survived by her:
Husband of 61 years, Bob Roedl;
Daughter, Jana Lozier and Lindy Lozier;
Daughter, Julie Choate and Monte Choate;
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren;
Several nieces and nephews;
Countless friends.
