My husband and I are almost regulars on Saturday mornings at Jimmy's Egg. We loved it when Mae was our waitress. She was so kind and attentive. One morning, my husband had forgotten to ask for a particular thing in his order and politely flagged Mae down. She rushed over, noted the change, and went to tell the cooks. She came back to let us know the change had been made, and my husband asked for more water. She retrieved the pitcher and filled his glass. He then asked for more coffee, suddenly realizing he could have asked for this all in one spell. Mae jokingly gave him a hard time by saying, "Can't you see I'm an old woman?" Haha! We sure will miss her.

When visiting friends in OKC from Michigan, we would always go to Jimmy's Egg for breakfast. Mae was the best, she had a great sense of humor and would often ask my friends when that guy from up north was coming back to visit. Mae always made us smile! She will be greatly missed.

I have very fond memories of spending my summers at Mafford's house. Denise and I were around the same age and we very much enjoyed spending time together when we were young and Mafford always called to ask me to come out each summer. Mafford even helped me get my 1st summer time job. She always treated me like her "daughter", not her niece. She was a very giving, sweet person and someone you could talk to about anything. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Dear Nowell family. I am so sorry to have read of the death of Mafford. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4. These verses tell us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our dear loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering, including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my hope that these thoughts will comfort your family also.
